Sr Software Engineer job description

· Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, and architects in a cross functional, collaborative environment to innovate in and improve for the Open Video Traffic system.

· Participate in the design, documentation, implementation and development of new functionalities and features.

· Lead both technical and process cross-functional initiatives proactively. Scope out and design new initiatives.

· Present and demo to different teams within the organization including upper management.

· Monitor, triage and troubleshoot application and environment issues in different deployment environments

· Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring capabilities for greater environment visibility and resiliency.

· Develop scripts to automate a variety of project tasks, validation and/or remediation of various data.

· Provide production support during the business hour and participate in on-call rotation for off-hour support.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience using J2EE, C#, C/C++, Golang, Kubernetes, databases (SQL/NoSQL), web applications, web services, Python or other scripting language.

• Clear understanding of design and development patterns, client/server and database/web interfaces
• Clear understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and REST principles
• Excellent interpersonal skills to join an Agile software development team.
• Experience with a CI/CD development environment
• Superior verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
• Able to work on multiple tasks at once and able to work independently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree is a plus.

· Some technical lead and/or project management experience, system engineering and design.

· Familiar with Cloud Computing including AWS cloud services such EC2 instances, S3 buckets, Dynamo DBs, VPC, Lambda, AMIs, IAM, Load Balancers.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• J2EE: 3 years (Required)
• Golang: 1 year (Preferred)
• APIs: 1 year (Preferred)
